Most Important, don’t rush! You will have this tattoo on your body forever. Make sure you will be comfortable with the tattoo design and what it says about you. Don’t let anybody talk you into a tattoo design you’re doubtful about. Make sure you are ready.
Don’t be limited by the designs a tattoo artist has available. You can design your own or use a site like this. This is what’s is so great about “PickYourInk”. It gives you a chance to surf at home so you don’t have to make a quick decision about which tattoo design you want at the tattoo studio.
High quality tattoo design sheets (tattoo flash sheets) are also very important. If you bring in a fuzzy copy, it will be harder for the artist to give you the quality you want. Pickyourink color downloads also eliminate trying to describe the colors you want. You’ll have an example of just what you want to show the artist.
The tattoo artist will be able to size the black and white line drawing to fit you. Make sure you try it in a few places and check it in the mirror to make sure the design is where you want. You could also have your print out sized at a copy place and try different sizes in the privacy of your home. You don’t want any surprises.
When you go to the studio, be well rested and not hungry. There may be some pain, and it well be worse if you are hungry, drunk, hung over or tired. You must be able to relax for the artist to do their best.
Finally, the new tattoo is not complete until your skin has healed. Your tattooist should explain the healing process for you, but most important is to keep the area clean. Gently wash it 4 or 5 times a day, keep it moist and out of the sun.
Note: These are our opinions from many years of experience, but they are not facts and we bear no responsibility if you are not happy with your design.
